FAQ

General:

  1. Can I visit your shop?
    Yes, but please send us an email beforehand so that we can make an appointment. We look forward to discussing our bikes with you!
  2. Can you do a bike fit?
    If you are purchasing a bike or have already purchased a Stinner, we are happy to help out with a fit. Please contact us in order to make an appointment.
  3. What is your lead time?
    Our current lead time is 6-8 weeks.
  4. Do you accept projects other than building and painting your bikes?
    No.  While we are proud of our fabricating, welding, and painting skill sets, our workshop and materials are dedicated to Stinner Frameworks bicycle orders only.

Bikes:

  1. Where are your bikes made?
    Each of our bikes is welded, painted, and built by hand at our shop in Santa Barbara, California.
  2. How do you design a custom frame?
    When we design your custom frame, we look at both your body measurements and the measurements from your current bike.  We also consider other factors that might affect your fit, such as previous injuries, flexibility level, and riding experience.
  3. Should I get a steel or titanium bike?
    We build world-class bikes in both steel and titanium. Ultimately, the choice comes down to the particular application and your preferences, so please contact us to discuss the best material for your frame in more detail.
  4. What tubing do you use?
    All of our bikes use Stinner Select tubing, a custom combination that depends on design considerations, your desired ride characteristics, and intended bike use. We source and fully inspect our tubing from high-quality Italian suppliers. 
  5. What paint do you use?
    Our bikes are all painted in-house here in Santa Barbara. We use wet automotive paint, as it provides the highest-quality finish and the most flexibility to create custom paint options.
  6. Can I order my bike ‘a la carte’?
    Definitely! While we offer a number of excellent value models, we also understand that you might prefer to pick and choose your parts individually. If this is the case, please contact us so that we are able to provide an estimate for your custom build.
  7. How much does bike assembly cost?
    If we'll be assembling your bike, our fee for assembly is $250.  This covers the labor of installation and tuning of all components by our exceptionally experienced mechanic.  Our assembly process is highly detail-oriented and we will take as much time as needed to perfectly dial in your Stinner. 

Ordering:

  1. How do I purchase a bike?
    Our Order Process is relatively simple and short.  To purchase a bike, please navigate to the model you're interested in and submit an Order form.  We will be in touch to discuss your new bike and to answer any questions you may have. If you would prefer to work with a local retailer, please see our dealer page here which lists all Stinner shops. If your local shop is not listed but you'd like to order through them, let us know and we'll be happy to correspond.
  2. Which payment methods do you accept?
    We accept payment via credit card, cash, check, or Paypal.
  3. Do you offer discounts?
    At this time, we are unable to offer any discounts. As a company committed to manufacturing custom bikes in Santa Barbara, CA, we simply cannot afford to discount our prices.

Shipping:

  1. How much does shipping cost?
    We will bill you for the actual shipping cost, so it will vary depending on how far your new bike is traveling from Santa Barbara. Please contact us for a shipping estimate.
  2. Do you ship internationally?
    Yes! We are happy to ship internationally. Please note that you are responsible for any and all import/customs charges that may be incurred.
  3. Can I pick up my bike in person?
    Absolutely. If our schedules align, we would love to get out on a bike ride while you’re in town as well!

Warranty and Guarantee

  1. What is your warranty?
    Craftsmanship on your Stinner frame is covered for life. Our frames come with a 5 year material warranty. While we use the best paint and paint practices possible, paint is not covered by our warranty. The warranty is for the original owner only and is non-transferable.
  2. What is your guarantee?
    All frames also come with a 30-day guarantee. If you receive the frame and it does not live up to your expectations, return it within 30 days, in like-new condition, for a full refund.
  3. I have a warranty claim. How do I proceed?
    If you have any issues that you believe are covered under our warranty, please contact us. We will evaluate the frame to determine the cause of the issue, and if we deem the problem to be covered by warranty, repair it to like new condition or replace it at our discretion.

Payments, Refunds, and Exchanges

All deposits are part of a total payment and are non-refundable. Responsibility for ordering the correct size, material, and format are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Stinner Frameworks accepts returns on new, unused, unblemished framesets only. Buyers are responsible for any and all costs associated with shipping to and from Stinner Frameworks for returns or exchanges. Items requiring refinishing or other cosmetic repair may be subject to additional charges.

All framesets are covered under our warranty with repair or replacement at the sole discretion of Stinner Frameworks. Excluding issues covered under our warranty policy. Please order carefully and accordingly.

Our 30 day satisfaction guarantee is for new and unused framesets only. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the product is returned to Stinner Frameworks in ‘like new’ condition. Items requiring refinishing or other cosmetic repair may be subject to additional charges.

We do not accept returns on any products not manufactured by Stinner Bicycle Co.
